Guyana, a country on the North Atlantic coast in South America, is marked by its dense tropical forest. With official English language, cricket and calypso music, the country is culturally linked to the Caribbean region. Its capital, Georgetown, is known for its British colonial architecture, represented by the Anglican Cathedral of Saint George, covered with painted wood. A large clock marks the facade of the Stabroek Market, a source of local products.

Suriname is a small country on the northeast coast of South America. It is defined by vast spaces of tropical forests, Dutch colonial architecture and diverse culture. On the Atlantic coast, is the capital Paramaribo, where palm gardens grow near Fort Zeelandia, a 17th century trading post. Paramaribo is also home to the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Peter and Paul, a tall wooden cathedral consecrated in 1885.

French Guiana is an overseas region of France on the northeast coast of South America, composed mainly of rainforest. The ruins of the 17th century Fort Cépérou stand out in the landscape of the capital, Cayenne, with its colorful Creole houses and street markets. Shops and cafés surround the main square, Place des Palmistes, lined with palm trees. The Rémire-Montjoly suburb has several beaches on the Atlantic coast.
